Pepe Patrol · About this publication
Real encounters. Clear context. Room for parody.
Pepe Patrol publishes The Dispatch: stories about unusual police encounters, accountability, public controversies and creator culture. We look for the detail a short clip leaves out—what happened before it, what records support it and what happened afterward. Our goal is to help a reader understand a story without having to watch an embedded video.
Who publishes the stories?
Stories credited to the Pepe Patrol editorial desk are published by this independent brand. The desk name is a publication byline, not a claim that an outside reporter attended an event. Each story identifies its source material and the dates that matter. Pepe Patrol is not a police agency and does not speak for any department, court or person it covers.
Reporting, commentary and fictional performance
Reporting describes information supported by the linked record. Commentary explains our interpretation and its limits. Parody is a fictional creative performance, including scenes featuring the Pepe mascot; it is labeled as parody or alteration. A mascot performance is not evidence of what a real person said or did. Straight reporting can stand on its own without a Pepe scene.
How we check a story
- Start with recoverable original context: agency releases, court records, full interviews, creator uploads or other primary material. Link to it where available.
- Seek independent credible reporting on an incident. Two outlets repeating the same wire report, press release or clip are not two independent confirmations. When confirmation is limited, say so and keep the claim narrow.
- Separate the incident date, the original upload date, the report date and later developments. A newly circulated video can show an old event.
- Attribute accusations, include relevant public responses and distinguish an arrest or charge from a finding of guilt. State a dismissal, acquittal, resignation or other outcome precisely.
- Describe what footage actually shows separately from an agency's or participant's account. Do not invent intent, dialogue, private relationships or reactions.
- Give photographs, frames and altered illustrations descriptive captions and source attribution. An AI-generated illustration must not masquerade as documentary evidence.
AI assistance and responsibility
AI tools may assist research organization, writing or creative production. Their outputs are not sources. The publication remains responsible for the claims, links, captions and corrections it publishes. We do not describe a tool-generated answer as an interview, firsthand observation or independent verification.
When a source or video changes
Videos can become private, be removed or stop embedding. We retain useful written context when it remains supported, label material availability changes and remove misleading playback promises. Historical publication dates do not prove a video is still available. Our corrections page explains how to flag an error and how we record substantive changes.
Editorial and commercial activity
The site also sells Pepe Patrol merchandise through Fourthwall. Product availability, a sale or a revenue goal is not evidence for an editorial claim. Paid placements, sponsorships or affiliate relationships must be clearly identified when present. Buying merchandise does not buy favorable coverage. We do not guarantee advertising approval, audience growth or financial results.
